My neighbour made this for one of our gatherings.
Apple and Banana SaladPrint Recipe
- 1 medium sized crisp lettuce thinly sliced
- 8 oz celery thinly sliced
- 2 red/green apples cut into 2 inch pieces with skin
- half cup raisins
- half cup raw peanuts or walnuts (optional)
- 2 ripe bananas sliced
- for dressing
- 4 tbs plain yoghurt
- 4 tbs mayonnaise
- 2 tbs honey
- salt and pepper to taste
Place lettuce, celery, apples, raisins, nuts and sliced bananas in a deep bowl and mix well.
Mix the dressing ingredients in a separate bowl and add to the above ingredients.
Mix well with a wooden spoon, cool in the refrigerator 3hours.
Serve as a side salad with any starters or as ‘filler’ with a main dish or a rice dish.
